Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant or catering settings.

Duties

• Assist in food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food handling meets health regulations.
• Help chefs and cooks with various culinary tasks as needed, including assembling dishes and preparing garnishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential.
• Basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items as needed.
