What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Education Informaticist position at Cabell Huntington Hospital?
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Education Informaticist to work alongside our Clinical Training & Development Department.
Within the framework of hospital and nursing service policies and procedures, the purpose of this position is to function as the Clinical Education Informaticist for clinical systems that integrate with the nursing department and ancillary departments as appropriate. Serves as a communication intermediary between but not limited to the department of nursing and other clinical departments as well as outpatient clinics and the Information Systems (IS) department. Coordinates and collaborates with multiple disciplines throughout the organization to ensure ongoing quality and benchmark comparison improvements. Ensures that the clinical requirements of nursing care are clearly incorporated into the clinical applications of the electronic medical record. Prepares/presents/communicates educational information/materials not limited to but including nursing and other departments as required related to informatics concerns and programs. This would include planning, implementing and evaluating programs for orientation, skills training and continuing education. Is responsible for system integration, coordination of training of nursing, allied professional and technical staff, and participate in the evaluation of all systems used by nursing services. This person will act as a role model for identifying and incorporating learning and growth opportunities for self and others within the learning management system. Will assist leadership in record keeping of student records including but not limited to personal health records.
Requirements:- Junior College/Technical School (LPN) required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current license as a RN required.
- AHA BLS required. BLS Instructor required within a year of hire.
- ACLS required. ACLS Instructor required within a year of hire.
- PALS required. PALS Instructor required within a year of hire.
- Specialty Certifications preferred.
- 1 year of position-related experience required.

- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and leadership skills in the area of management and communication of nursing information.
- Experience and knowledge regarding nursing combined with clinical aspects of the business of health care
- Clinical nursing experience in a critical care and/or medical surgical setting is required
- Demonstrate use of MS Office Suite and various software solutions.
- Experience with curriculum design and development preferred.
- Experience with computer documentation within and EMR (Cerner Preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Visio
- Previous experience should demonstrate organizational, communication, leadership and critical thinking skills.
- Must communicate a desire to teach, train and develop health care personnel.
