What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Tech position at Cabell Huntington Hospital?
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a MRI Technologist to work in our MRI department.
The MRI Tech will:
- Perform MRI scans in accordance with accepted protocols and policies.
- Evaluate the patient and make sure they are a true candidate for the MR procedure. Proper screening is important to insure the patient has no metal or orthopedic devices that may interfere with the procedure.
- Properly explain the procedure to the patient so that they clearly understand what will be occurring during the procedure. Communication is very important as to reduce the patients anxiety level associate with an MR procedure.
- Manipulate computer settings to obtain diagnostic images acceptable to staff Radiologists.
- Five years of experience as a Radiological Technologist is preferred
- Five years of experience in MR procedures preferred
- Registry certification in MR preferred
- State of WV operator's license required
- Graduate of an approved and accredited School of Radiology required
- Experience with all types of MR procedures including routine, musculoskeletal, Neuro, Pediatrics, Sedation/Anesthesia, MRA and trauma strongly preferred
