Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Scheduling and Liaison Coordinator for our Outpatient Infusion Department.
The purpose of the Scheduling and Liaison Coordinator is to assure patients are efficiently pre-certified and scheduled for outpatient infusion services in a timely manner. Facilitates and eliminates barriers for the patients that are referred to the outpatient infusion services. Serves as a communicator and a non-direct patient care resource once the patient arrives to the facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Preauthorization of OPI infusions and medications that will be administered
- Calling patients to obtain accurate insurance information
- Calling insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations
- Calling physician offices as needed to obtain documented orders and medical necessity documentation
- Schedule patients once pre-authorization is approved
- Answering phones
- Serve as a patient liaison during patient visit
- Assist the nurses as needed with non-direct patient care duties
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Junior College/Technical School required.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- One year of position-related experince required.
