Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support NIH Stroke Certification Job Details Cardiac Stepdown RN 13 weeks 3x12 day 5 North / Step-down is a 20-bed (all private room) unit. We strive for a 1 : 4 ratio but can have a 1 : 5 ratio, depending on our staffing situation. We have a mixture of pulmonary (pneumonia, COPD, BiPAP / cpap, etc.), cardiac (a-fib, heart failure, etc.), neuro (stroke), GI (bleed), and surgery patients who are stable with a higher risk of becoming unstable. Our unit is equipped to house 20 stepdown patients at one time, however, all patients do not have to be step-down in order to be on our unit. We accept patients who do not require invasive monitoring. There may be a combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients at any given time, based upon bed availability house wide. Examples of critical drips we can administer to our step-down patients : Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin. Job Requirements 1 year experience required BLS and ACLS required Schedule Information 3x12 day shifts Unit Specific Information 5 North / Step-down is a 20-bed (all private room) unit. Additional Details Government issued photo ID required. Photo Identification must be carried on person during hours of service to client. Please require if nurse is working on a compact license. NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs and LPN / LVNs regardless of unit. Any certifying agency is acceptable. 1 year expiration unless certificate specifies 2 year expiration for health care purposes. Not a condition of clearance but the candidate will have to complete onsite within 2 weeks if they do not have prior to start.
