What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Team Lead position at cabi Distribution Center?
Position Summary: Associate is responsible to ensure that 10% of all shipments received are audited in accordance with cabi quality standards following AQL 2.5 guidelines. Associate oversees 7 to 9 inspectors and is directly responsible for distributing work following sectionalized inspection, while maximizing teams abilities in order to achieve the best output and efficiency. Ensures accuracy and consistency with all styles striving for best quality and confirming quantities during audits to ensure inventory is correct on all shipments. Is required to act as a role model for inspectors by having excellent teambuilding skills and setting a good example of the “cabi way”.
Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed information on all styles following cabi quality standards and AQL 2.5 guidelines
- Oversees inspections which consist of reviewing overall garment construction, appearance, trims/embellishments, hardware functionality, seam construction (sewing/linking), color (shading), fabric (hand/feel), print/fabric defects, etc.
- Required to consistently perform random checks on inspection team at his/her table to ensure all defects marked by team are legitimate and make decisions to pass/fail following cabi quality standards
- Responsible to follow up with QC Supervisor, Manager, and at times Director on defects pulled to ensure that all parties are in agreement with what is being sorted out prior to summary inspection reports and photos of defects are created
- Responsible for creating inspection reports for each audit as well as any adjustments to incorrectly labeled/packaged garments that need to be made following AQL 2.5 guidelines
- Responsible for ensuring that merchandise returned from Scoop is inspected/repaired and is of 100% quality prior to approving to FQ
- Responsible for the preparation, execution, and accuracy of inventory for each style audited/inspected
- Required to organize defects upon audit completion to ensure defect count/type matches reports (identifying repairs, 2nd quality, and damages)
- Ability to confirm count and sizes match carton labeling for inventory control
- Must be in close communication with QC Supervisor and Manager to meet department goals and deadlines, while at the same time ensuring that safety and health guidelines are being met, always following cabi policies and working according to the “cabi way”
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Construction/inspection of garments, shoes, accessories
- Some knowledge of fabrics/knits/sweaters
- Knowledge on how to read tape measure (inches & metrics) as well as style spec sheets to perform measurement audits
- Some repair skills (sewing/hand mending)

Working Conditions:
- Standing by inspection tables (entire work shift)
- Ability to move cartons by using palette jack and moving cartons from palette to table (lifting cartons)
- Ability to unpack/pack cartons
- Handling of rolling racks

- Knowledge in construction/inspection of garments, accessories, shoes
Other requirements:
- Helps in other areas when workload is low and must be open to cross-training
- Duties are not limited to only monitoring inspections and will vary depending on company requirements/deadlines

- Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
