General Summary
Our Advanced Practice Provider Primary Care Fellowship is a year-long transition-to-practice program for newly graduated nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are interested in pursuing a career in primary care. The fellowship program provides a supportive, educational environment encompassing precepted continuity clinics, mentorship, didactics, research and quality improvement experience to help facilitate that difficult transition from academics to clinical practice. We offer a competitive salary and full benefits package including paid time off, CME time, sick and wellness time, and malpractice insurance.
After graduating from the fellowship, we offer employment opportunities, as available, with an increased salary that equals to a nurse practitioner or physician assistant salary with 2 years of experience. Our next cohort of fellows will start on September 9th, 2024. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. We encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible to be considered. Spots in the program will be offered on a space-available basis. The program will continue to accept and review applications until the class is filled but no later than August 1st.
Responsibilities
Advance clinical knowledge to provide holistic, comprehensive patient-centered primary care through a year-long slow ramp-up period with a dedicated preceptor to consult.
Participate in weekly didactic sessions focusing on case studies with emphasis on complex scenarios seen in primary care.
Participate in a mentorship relationship with an experienced primary care provider.
Gain knowledge and insight with weekly specialty clinic rotations.
Design and implement quality improvement initiatives and present findings.
Qualifications
Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (it is okay to apply if you are still a graduate student as long as you will graduate prior to the start date)
Physician Assistant (it is okay to apply if you are still a graduate student as long as you will graduate prior to the start date)
Graduated within 18 months of September 2024
Credentialed as PA-C, FNP-C, FNP-BC, AGPCNP-C or AGPCNP-BC or license/credential eligible prior to program start date
