This role ensures the implementation of short- and long-term maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance scheduling, corrective maintenance actions, and general site maintenance needs.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that assigned department(s) are maintained in good working order in a manner that prevents disruption of site operations and complies with OSHA safety standards. This role ensures the implementation of short- and long-term maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance scheduling, corrective maintenance actions, and general site maintenance needs.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Determine and document root cause of mechanical failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Implement maintenance strategies to improve system reliability and performance.
- Operate an electronic tablet to create and complete work orders as well as search for spare parts and document findings.
- Review technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to support troubleshooting efforts.
- Conduct inspections and testing of electronics and basic digital electronics.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
- 5 years of mechanical/electrical manufacturing experience.
- Strong background in electro-mechanical processes.
- Experience with hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of boiler operation and maintenance.
- Some experience with automated processing systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs, including editing, design, and repair.
- Understanding of how to adjust PLC programs.
- Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable and available to work weekends and/or varied shifts as needed.
- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving parts, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Required to wear PPE, including gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- May involve exposure to loud noises and hot/cold environments.
