Production Manager

Due to growth and internal promotions, we are seeking a high performing Production Manager for our Culpeper, Virginia cabinet manufacturing plant. In this role, you will use your leadership experience and capabilities to lead a team of Supervisors who ensure our quality products are made safely and efficiently at a low cost. This is key role sits on the Plant Senior Leadership team.
A typical day will include:
- Developing and managing a culture of discipline to consistently deliver superior safety, quality, delivery, cost and operational performance through continuous improvement
- Interacting with other Managers, Supervisors, and hourly employees to develop, motivate and inspire top level performance
- Participating with plant level senior management in production planning, goal setting, engagement and recruiting efforts.
- Creating a production environment of transparency and trust .
- Coordinating with other departments to meet maximum quality and efficiency .
- Instilling pride in and recognizing plant population for surpassing safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
- Determining and championing preventive and corrective actions focused on mitigating process failures
- Leading, participating in, and executing continuous improvement activities including Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping activities
- Communicating, effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
Your background includes:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or related discipline ; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Demonstrated success in leading people and getting results through others
- High volume manufacturing experience preferably in the wood industry
- Successful experience in employee training and development including that of peers and subordinates
- Lean manufacturing / Six sigma experience
- Success operating in a team environment
- Demonstrated achievement of building positive relationships and partnerships across the organization.
