About this Role

Cable Communication Services

 

An Equipment Operator’s primary responsibility is to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately using construction equipment such as: skid steers, mini/midsize excavators, rubber-tire backhoe, small/large dozer, small/large cable plow, rocksaw, small/midsize trenchers, midsize/large Vac truck and trailers, small/midsize bore machines, with experience operating this equipment around existing utilities.

What You'll Do

  • Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport
  • Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it’s in good working order
  • Driving or controlling equipment to complete tasks at the construction site
  • Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly
  • Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their Supervisor if maintenance is past due
  • Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used
  • Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
  • Completing minor repair work as needed

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of equipment operating experience
  • Knowledge of all phases of Utility construction
  • Skill set to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
  • Valid, Active Driver's License
  • Valid, Active DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate

 

Preferred:

  • Valid, Active CDL A

Pre-screen: Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
