About this Role
Cable Communication Services
An operator's primary responsibility is to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately using a directional drill and other heavy equipment. Other equipment knowledge preferred for this position are skid steers, mini/midsize excavators, backhoes, midsize/large Vac truck and trailers, with experience operating this equipment around existing utilities.
Pay: This is a non-exempt hourly role. The pay range is $23 - $36 per hour
What You'll Do
- Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport
- Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it’s in good working order
- Driving or controlling equipment to complete tasks at the construction site
- Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly
- Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their Supervisor if maintenance is past due
- Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used
- Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
- Completing minor repair work as needed
What You'll Bring
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of equipment operating experience
- Knowledge of all phases of Utility construction
- Skill set to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
- Valid, Active Driver's License
- Valid, Active DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
Preferred:
- Valid, Active CDL A
