Autobody Master Technician
Location: Cable Dahmer of Topeka - 3731 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66609
Full-Time (Weekdays Only)
Job Summary:
As a Body Shop Master Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition. You will use your expertise in bodywork and repairs to ensure all work is done to manufacturer specifications and company standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the automotive repair industry, specializing in collision repair and vehicle restoration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform body repairs and refinishing work on vehicles including frame straightening, welding, and parts replacement.
- Diagnose and repair complex vehicle body damage, both cosmetic and structural.
- Use advanced tools and equipment to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Work closely with the service team to ensure timely and quality repairs.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, following shop safety and cleanliness guidelines.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest repair techniques, technologies, and automotive innovations.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians when needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and work closely with the customer service team to address client concerns and updates on vehicle repair progress.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Body Shop Technician
- Ability to repair and replace vehicle parts, including both structural and cosmetic elements.
- Proficiency in using frame machines, welders, and other automotive repair tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair techniques.
- ASE certification (preferred but not required).
- I-CAR or other relevant certifications (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of detail and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a standing, bending, and crouching position for extended periods.
