The Fiber Optic Construction Supervisor (FTTH) is responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and controlling fiber optic construction projects within the assigned territory. This role will coordinate and monitor field operations within the assigned region, ensuring safe and efficient work, and overseeing all personnel. Specific duties may vary depending on the type of project, but generally tasks include scheduling work to proceed according to a strict timeline, overseeing staff on a construction site, conducting audits and checks to ensure that work corresponds with blueprints or client requests, and monitoring safety and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of previous experience in the FTTH Telecom/fiber optic industry
- AT least 2 years managing in-house personnel and/or sub contractors
- Fiber Optic construction/ Telecom experience
- Understanding of telecom equipment such as OTDR, PDO, JSO and JFO, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
- Understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
- Knowledge and safe use of required power and hand tools
- Able to read and comprehend floor plans, equipment manuals, schematics and complex instructions
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project) desired
- Must be able lift 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to travel within the U.S. and hold a valid Driver’s license
- Must be able to work in normal office conditions, construction, and field environment
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and monitor field operations for projects they are assigned within the region
- Maintain project administration in a correct and timely manner
- Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Manage sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting contractors
- Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews
- Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures
- Approve construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases
- Prevent fines and work interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, and procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
