With direction, performs duties as a Coax Splicer as a part of the construction of telecommunications to ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by our customer.
Pay Range: $27 - $30 per hour
What you’ll do…
- Repair or splice in new line as needed to complete the testing and certification of the project.
- Place and install required coax cable when necessary to complete assignment(s).
- Install all passive and active devices, pedestals, and vaults and coax splice cases required to house CATV equipment per customer requirements.
- Test Coax-RF lines for acceptable signal between points-continuity and fault.
- Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to increase capacity.
- Utilize RF Meters and OTDR accurately.
- Close a project by completing production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, and adjust and troubleshoot, as necessary.
- Reconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience as a coax splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
- Valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
