The Associate Learning Product Manager (APM) is part of the newly created SCTE Product team reporting to the Director of Product Management for Professional Learning. This team plays a crucial role in understanding the learning needs of SCTE members. We create excellent professional learning products to advance careers and support the telecommunications industry.
Why This Role Is Exciting
The Associate Product Manager for Professional Learning (APM) supports the development, improvement, and management of professional learning products with a focus on Professional Certifications. This role is ideal for someone making a career pivot from an education field such as learning design, learning strategy, or learning program management into product management. Your primary responsibility will be to use your expertise in L&D and general business skills to develop and improve our certification exams. The APM will ensure our exams accurately measure the required skills, are well-aligned with industry needs, and are an attractive product desired by telecommunications professionals and hiring managers alike.
As a creative learning professional, the APM will also collaborate across SCTE to imagine the future of professional learning products, including online and in-person courses, AI based-training tools, and mentorship programs.

What You’ll Do
The APM will work across departments and teams to develop valuable certifications recognized across the cable and telecommunications industries.
- 40% Product Development
- Collaborate with the Head of Product to create and manage product roadmaps for certifications
- Conduct user and industry research to inform product development
- Develop learner/user personas and product requirements documentation
- Analyze costs and revenue opportunities to ensure certifications are financially sustainable
- 40% Program Management
- Coordinate the full life-cycle of certifications from ideation, development, launch, refresh, and retirement.
- Serve as the SCTE expert on our certification offerings.
- Ensure exams are fair, accurate, and measure the right skills through data-driven validation and collaboration with assessment experts.
- Monitor product performance and present reports on key metrics, outcomes, and impacts.
- 10% Innovation and Trends
- Stay informed about emerging trends in educational technology and workforce development.
- Contribute new ideas to enhance our learning products.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What Is a Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a liberal arts field (e.g., English, communications, social sciences, or the arts) or a technology-focused STEM discipline, along with a certificate or equivalent training/experience in learning design or education.
- At least 5 years in education, learning design, product development, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of financial principles related to product costs, pricing, and revenue generation.
- Experience on project teams keeping projects organized, on time, and on budget.
What Will Set You Apart
- A strong history of personal and professional success, with measurable impacts, outcomes, and awards.
- Experience in the cable industry
- Experience in psychometric analysis or collaborating with psychometricians to design and validate assessments.

Compensation: The salary range is $82,420 - $100,620. This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation up to 17.5% of base salary.

Working conditions and physical requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- This position requires limited travel.
- May be required to navigate a construction site or industrial facility, ability to lift, move and transport equipment up to 15bs.
