Located in the central-west region of Florida, aptly known as the Nature Coast, Cabot Citrus Farms is set across 1,420 acres of pristine natural beauty. The landscape is marked by dramatic elevation changes, rolling hills, sandy soil, and a canopy of sand pines, palmetto trees, and century-old moss-covered oaks. The destination features 56 holes of golf, including two regulation-length courses, Karoo and Roost, a 9-hole course called The Squeeze, and an 11-hole par-3 course named The Wedge. Position Overview
This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols across resort grounds, including golf courses, clubhouses, parking lots, and guest areas.
- Monitor resort property through regular patrols, security camera surveillance, and check-in points.
- Identify, report, and respond to any suspicious activity, security breaches, or safety hazards.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, including medical situations, theft, and disturbances.
- De-escalate conflicts and resolve minor issues professionally, escalating to supervisors when needed.
- Accurately document incidents in detailed reports and follow up as required.
- Control and monitor access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized individuals enter secure zones.
- Verify credentials of guests, vendors, and staff as necessary.
- Assist in emergency evacuations, following established procedures and providing guidance to guests and staff.
- Participate in safety drills, ongoing training, and workshops related to emergency response.
- Communicate effectively with local law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel during emergencies.
- Provide a welcoming presence, offering assistance to guests with inquiries and directions.
- Support guests and staff with security-related issues or concerns, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Assist with any crowd control needs during events or peak hours.
- Work closely with other security personnel, front desk, and management to maintain smooth operations.
- Attend and actively participate in security team meetings, training sessions, and briefings.
- Provide clear and concise communication through radios, written logs, and verbal reports.
- Must have valid Florida Driver’s license
- Must be able to read and write in English
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 6-12 months security experience or prior military / law enforcement preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, alert, and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Willing to complete assigned training as required by leadership / management (e.g. NRA RSO, First Aid/CPR/AED, Level I Venomous Reptile HandCaling, etc…)
- Must strictly adhere to CCF Drug-Free Workplace policy; no exceptions
- Must submit to Urinalysis at employment and per CCF policy upon hiring
- Must pass physical fitness test prior to employment offer and then semi-annually while employed at CCF.
- Tier 1: Jr. Security Guard, No formal experience.
- Tier 2: Security Guard: 6-12 months security experience, prior military or law enforcement
- Tier 3: Security Agent: 1-2 years of security experience, strong understanding of golfing community and associated security protocols, proficiency in surveillance and access control systems; prior military or law enforcement
- Tier 4: Security Officer: 2-3 years of experience in the security field, strong knowledge of security protocols, ability to manage a team, advanced problem solving and critical thinking; prior military or law enforcement
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to manipulate small objects and use tools with precision, such as pressing buttons on a radio or dialing a phone
- Ability to maintain coordinated, balanced movements over multiple surfaces (e.g., grass, sand, hills) and to perform quick, full-body actions like running or crouching as needed
- Guards should demonstrate accurate hand-eye coordination for tracking movements, recognizing objects at varying distances, and operating equipment while visually monitoring an area
- Ability to remain balanced while walking on different types of surfaces and maintain stability when moving quickly
- Guards should have the ability to react quickly to stimuli, with a strong reaction time for unexpected situations
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach overhead without strain, as well as crouch or kneel occasionally.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as assist in moving heavier objects when necessary
- ability to walk a minimum of 3-5 miles during a shift over different surfaces (e.g., grass, pavement, sand) while maintaining good balance and control.
- Ability to work in outdoor temperatures typical for Florida while following guidelines to stay hydrated and take breaks as necessary
