Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services
Come join us at St. Cabrini Nursing Home! We are a 304-bed, Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility founded in 1974 in continuation of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini’s legacy of serving those in need through works of healing, teaching, caring and giving.
We are looking to fill the position of Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services.
$75K to $85K based on skills and experience.
Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience as supervisor of environmental services, including at least two years in a long term care setting.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Health Care Administration.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrable ability to work with staff at all levels.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Introduction to Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services:
Manage, plan, and direct all functions and activities of the Housekeeping, Laundry and Linen Department
Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services Job Summary:
- Maintain the department in an “inspection ready” state, assuring the department operates within federal, state and local regulations.
- Prepare the annual budget for Housekeeping, Laundry/Linen departments.
- Manage the daily operations of the department; ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness and appearance to residents, visitors and staff.
- Monitor and manage all controls: daily managerial reports, daily inspections and monthly staff meetings.
- Interview and select candidates, evaluate employees, discipline and terminate within the framework of Cabrini of Westchester policies and procedures.
- Assist in planning and managing program for waste collection, vermin control and physical maintenance of the nursing home.
- Conduct periodic inspections and inventory of supplies.
- Train workers in safe work practices and enforce organizational rules to ensure employees follow safe practices while at work.
