What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gift Shop Manager position at Cacapon Resort State Park?
Operating under the supervision of the Park Ranger and Lodge Manager at Cacapon and Berkeley Springs State Parks, the Gift Shop Manager fosters a positive guest experience for all of those that visit our state parks.
As manager of the Gift Shop, this position trains its employees to provide exceptional customer service for guests, keep a neat and orderly space that is easy for guests to navigate, and communicate with guests in a positive and helpful manner that exemplifies our parks hospitality standards.
The Gift Shop Manager will be will be responsible for:
- Purchasing, ordering and receiving merchandise
- Monitoring and reporting inventory
- Ensuring a neat and presentable space
- Handing cash and digital transactions
- Scheduling, supervising, and training up to three Gift Shop Clerks
- Communicating with management both on and off property about any issues, needs or otherwise important information
- Year end inventory counts and gross margin reports
- Assisting Front Desk and Housekeeping Departments when need arises
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Retail management and supervisory experience
- Skills in inventory management and monitoring
- Experience with POS (Point of Sales) systems, cash handling, and reporting
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Experience in purchasing following company policies
- Employee training and onboarding experience
