Job Description:
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experienced FEA Engineer to assist in developing and evaluating models of novel ship and submarine systems under development. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be working to push forward research and development efforts in the design of new submarine and ship systems for the USN. In this role, you will be working across multiple functional teams where complex problem-solving and communication skills are critical to success. Responsibilities:
Create and develop detailed CAD models based on technical drawings and specifications (preferably SolidWorks)
Conduct finite element analyses and hand calculations to evaluate and detail structural designs.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations of structural analysis results for stakeholders
Develop and validate FEA models using software such as FEMAP, Hypermesh, or ANSYS.
Troubleshoot and optimize finite element models for performance
Conduct knowledge management by documenting modeling approach and methodologies
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in FEA techniques.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field;
Mechanical/Structural Engineering background.
1 years' experience with computer aided design (CAD) software, preferably with SolidWorks.
1 years' experience working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
1 years proven experience in finite element analysis, ideally in a relevant industry (e.g., defense contracting, aerospace, industrial design, marine engineering).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired:
Exposure to ship and submarine design concepts and terminology would be a plus.
Experience with FEMAP, HyperMesh, or ANSYS
