What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Tester position at CACI?
CACI is seeking for a Software Tester (ST) to support our Client in Chantilly, VA. With a wide range of knowledge, the ST defines and develops test standards for the testing of information technology products, equipment, or systems in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
Job Description:
- Develop and Execute Test Plans: Create, develop, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated test strategies for information technology products, including SharePoint and custom .NET web applications and websites.
- Software Release Testing: Conduct thorough testing of software releases throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure functionality, performance, and security standards are met.
- Test Documentation: Write and assist in the development of detailed test plans, test cases, and test procedures that align with project requirements.
- Define Test Processes: Establish and maintain test processes, methodologies, and requirements documentation to ensure consistent, effective testing practices.
- Track Issues and Report Findings: Record and report test results, logging defects or issues into the project’s tracking system. Ensure issues are clearly documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Support User Documentation Development: Collaborate with technical writers to assist in creating or updating user documentation and guides, ensuring alignment with software functionality and business processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and technical writers to ensure the testing process aligns with project goals and that manuals and guides accurately reflect the software’s capabilities.
- Assist with Test Design Recommendations: Provide input into the design and planning of test options and strategies, offering recommendations to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 5 – 7 years of related experience, within testing or IT area.
- Active and current TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Collaborative Team Environment: Work alongside a supportive and growth-oriented team, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
- Test Process Management: Ensure all testing activities are executed in a structured and efficient manner, maintaining quality and consistency throughout the process.
- Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay current with evolving software technologies and design practices to provide cutting-edge, competitive, and cost-effective solutions.
- Quality Standards Establishment: Define and communicate clear quality assurance standards to the test team, ensuring consistency and high performance in all testing efforts.
- Test Automation Strategy Development: Design and implement a test automation strategy for projects following Agile methodologies, ensuring efficient and scalable testing processes.
