The Opportunity:

CACI has a need to add an experienced Welder/Fabricator to its technical team in Albuquerque, NM. This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for mechanical component fabrication.

• Knowledge of applicable processes and standards covering parts machining, welding, design, and fabrication

• Interface with Mechanical Engineers and Designers on fabrication methods and processes

• Perform manual tasks such as rust treatment, painting and materials removal, metal grinding, cutting and the application of various solutions

• Able to work independently and as part of a team, comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights

• Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions, follow work orders, and assist with preparation of reports and appropriate documentation to include following test procedures and recording results

• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

• Possess proven problem-solving skills and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions

• Use of basic powered and hand tools

• May be asked to lead a small project team, provide guidance and assistance to new or entry-level employees

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Experience and job knowledge of welding and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education

• Minimum of 5 years experience vocational or technical education in addition to related work experience is a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel

• Physical abilities include: the use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools and various equipment. Standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, and handling, pushing, and pulling

• Able to focus on items less than 20 inches away (corrected or uncorrected), see in three dimensions and distinguish all colors

• GTAW / TIG welding

• GMAW / MIG Welding

• Machine Shop Equipment Operations

• Fabrication Shop Machinist

Desired:

• Shop Fabrication

• Steel Fabrication

• Structural Fabrication

• Welding Fabrication

• AWS certification for various metals

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
