ROLE OVERVIEW:
Cacique is seeking a dynamic Process Engineer, based in Amarillo, TX. As a process engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. Ultimately, your job is to maintain the efficiency of production to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize continuous improvement mindset, develop, and implement best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve and optimize processes, quality of output, process capability and reliability from inception through startup and certification.
- Design, run, test, upgrade systems and perform process simulations.
- Assess process, take measurements, collect, record and interpret/transcribe data.
- Investigate, resolve, and document all process related issues.
- Develop and maintain support systems to provide stable core production processes.
- Develop, implement, and administer new predictive technology systems.
- Provide technical support to operating teams to include process documentation and operating instructions.
- Perform risk assessments.
- Work with operating teams to address safety concerns and assist in resolution.
- Search literature and assimilate information generated by others with the aim of solving relevant issues.
- Research and advise on new manufacturing technology.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing to develop a cost-effective and working production processes.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Ensure financial budgets are followed.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or related science.
- Knowledge of process related standards
- Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to articulate key messages in a persuasive manner that builds employee respect and understanding. Facilitates constructive communication across the team. Breaks down complex subjects into key messages.
- Able to understand and solve problems that arise in day-to-day operations. Can develop hypotheses and identify data needed to evaluate problem areas.
- Able to identify changes to the industry from an engineering perspective and leverages this information to make recommendations to enhance capabilities.
- Understands the manufacturing process & can impact the process and efficiency. Has depth of expertise needed to achieve goals and objectives.
- 5 years' experience with process materials, equipment, and systems
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively establish working relationships with various departments / supervisors and management personnel.
- Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed to support operational needs.
- Work experience with food processing equipment, manufacturing and/or use
- CAD or AutoCAD skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Be willing to participate in continuous education.
- Proven work experience in process engineering
