SUMMARY:

Supports all aspects of the Maintenance department. The Fabricator/Process Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and rebuilt of pump systems, valves, and related equipment. And fabricating sanitary systems and components, ensuring they meet hygiene standards and operational requirements. This role ensures the efficient operation of machinery and contributes to the overall reliability of the facility.

Fabricator Welder:

Key Duties:

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Material Preparation: Cut, shape, and smooth metal and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
  • Welding Operations: Perform welding using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Sanitary Welding: Perform welding tasks on sanitary piping and equipment, ensuring welds are clean, smooth, and free from contaminants.
  • Assembly: Assemble fabricated parts to create finished products, ensuring structural integrity and quality.
  • Pipe Valves and Fitting: Work on all pipe, valve, and fittings repairs or new installs.
  • Inspection: Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Maintain and repair welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed and processes followed.
  • Collaboration: Work with other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all fabricated and welded components meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the fabrication and welding process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek ways to improve welding techniques and fabrication processes for better efficiency and quality.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Safety Practices: Follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Training: Stay updated with advancements in welding technology and techniques and participate in relevant training programs.

Process Maintenance Technician:

Key Duties:

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, heat exchangers, lubrication, cleaning, and inspect.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within pump systems using specialized diagnostic tools.
  • Repairs: Repair or replace defective pump parts such as seals, bearings, motors, and impellers. Rebuild valves and actuators for the process
  • Rebuilding: Disassemble and rebuild pumps to restore them to optimal working condition. Complete rebuild on all valves and actuators.
  • Installation: Install new pump systems, valves clusters and ensure they are set up according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Testing: Test and adjust pump systems, valves to meet specific pressure and flow requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and rebuilds.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures during all maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of pump systems.

  • Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients about the status of their pump repairs and any potential issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.

Technical Challenges:

  • Complex Diagnostics: Identifying the root cause of issues can be difficult, especially with advanced and interconnected systems.
  • Keeping Up with Technology: Rapid advancements in technology require technicians to continuously update their skills and knowledge.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring machinery and equipment are properly maintained to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficiency.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on welding experience with technical schooling or 5 years of sanitary welding experience without technical schooling
