The Sanitation Manager will lead our sanitation team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sanitation protocols, conducting regular inspections, and training staff on best practices. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of food safety regulations, demonstrate subject matter expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose operational and equipment performance risks, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The Sanitation Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring a clean and safe environment for the plant.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and guidance on process discipline for plant sanitation practices and CIP system
- Provide support for compliance with product and environmental pathogen prevention monitoring.
- Leads and guides team members on HTST process, regulatory agency audit practices, chemical safety, equipment safety, and corrective action discipline
- Manages and evaluates plant chemical requirements, chemical management, suppliers, consumption, disposal, and environmental testing.
- Manages and monitors pre and post operations equipment and process inspections
- Troubleshoot sanitation and quality issues. Applies a solution-minded approach to identify and implement the most appropriate corrective measures.
- Facilitates continuous improvement through team meetings and team member education to effectively change systems and refine procedures
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with chemical suppliers in order to maintain optimum external support of the facilities.
- Work with EH&S Manager to provide awareness and training on new chemicals, processes and handling procedures as required
- Work cross-functionally with all Operations departments to plan, develop, and maintain Cacique’s environmental health program of basic health sanitation and food safety.
- Supports and exhibits a commitment to practices that exceed the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality/Food Safety Management Systems.
- Provides and manages documentation, reports, and analytics to plant management for decision-making, to validate sanitation program effectiveness and compliance.
- Facilitates master sanitation schedule in accordance with operations and SQF certification requirements
- Lead and develop a sanitation team to satisfy the expectations with a well-executed sanitation program

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years management experience in food manufacturing or processing, preferably dairy manufacturing with emphasis on sanitation.
Knowledge:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc. with strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public and environmental health.
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines pertaining to food safety and environmental health.
