Corporate Partnerships Intern

CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches is the Spring Training home to the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. This is a two-team state-of-the-art facility designed for year-round use through Spring Training games, amateur baseball, non-baseball sporting events, community events along with banquets, corporate events, weddings and more.
Summary/Objective:
In this role, you will be an essential part of corporate partnership sales and activations, the in-game experience and help build memories that last a lifetime. We’re looking for outgoing, enthusiastic and sales driven individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and desire to learn. The Corporate Partnerships intern will assist with a variety of tasks related to the branding and promotion of The Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals Spring Training facility.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Corporate Partnerships Department in ensuring adherence to sponsor contract provisions, including monitoring inventory, execution of promotions and planning/execution of special events, which includes game day responsibilities
- Sell corporate partnerships to local businesses through prospecting via cold calling, emails, Linkedin
- Act as a sponsor contact responding and fulfilling any request made by the sponsor
- Maintain records for all sponsor activities, tasks and accomplishments
- Assist Corporate Partnerships with assembling client presentations and fulfillments
- Writing and reviewing game day scripts, in coordination with the Game Entertainment Intern, for the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches to ensure accurate implementation of all promotions, sales and corporate partnership commitments
- Work closely with sponsors in order to collect necessary contractual documents and promotional items
- Track sponsor display, signage, ads, programs, credentials and tickets
- Handle sponsorship credential requests and distribution
- Assisting with hospitality elements for Corporate Partners
- Preparing contestant waivers, contest props & prizes for all sponsor related promotions
- Able to follow directions and work well within team setting
- Other duties as assigned
Education or Experience and/or Skills:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university, having completed at least one semester, or recently graduated with a degree in Sports Marketing, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Must be prepared to work a minimum of 30-40 hours per week, with extended hours during the month of March
- Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Ability to learn and master new software programs as necessary
- Photography experience a plus
- Professional conduct, image and demeanor in an office setting
- Some knowledge Major League Baseball rules, history and players
Work Environment:
This job operates in a stadium setting. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. This job will be expected to work indoor and outdoor in moderate weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a moderate active role, and will including the individual to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and/or climbing up/down stairs or ladders. Individual may also be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, and to lift/move/carry items up to 20 lbs. on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
