Job Title: Teacher Leader Resident
Reports To: Teacher Leader Team
Job Summary: The Teacher Leader Resident will work closely with the Teacher Leader Team and other school staff to support instructional goals, facilitate collaboration among colleagues, and provide leadership within the school community. The role is designed to allow a teacher to build their leadership capacity while continuing to grow and improve in their teaching practice, preparing them to hold the Teacher Leader role at a WMPSC site upon training completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Leadership:
- Collaborate with Teacher Leader to develop and implement high-quality, Montessori and standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans.
- Support the development of teaching strategies, share best practices, and model effective teaching techniques.
- Data Analysis and Student Achievement:
- Analyze student data to help identify areas for instructional improvement and develop targeted interventions.
- Work with school leadership to set academic goals and monitor progress toward those goals.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate regularly with leadership staff to address school-wide instructional initiatives and student performance.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of a Teacher Assistant under the direction of the Lead Guide.
- School Culture and Climate:
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative school culture.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs to improve school climate, student engagement, and community involvement.
- Professional Development:
- Meet all requirements for Montessori certification, including attending coaching meetings, submitting required assignments, reflection exercises, and in-person practicum.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and participating in school events, such as parent-teacher conferences, open houses, or extracurricular activities.
- Support school-wide initiatives to improve student outcomes and foster a strong educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for supporting teacher growth.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to drive instructional decisions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and leadership growth; willingness to complete a MACTE-accredited Montessori certification if not already held.

Compensation:
- $45-48K commensurate with experience
