What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual DUI Instructor position at CADAS?
Job Summary:
The Bilingual DUI Instructor is responsible for the presentation of and instruction of the State Certified Prime for Life curriculum in Spanish. Instruction and lesson plans will follow the set guidelines provided.
1 Saturday every other month (8am-8pm)
Duties and Responsibilities
· Insures students are on time and present for class per the attendance roster.
· Collect payments where necessary and provide receipts to the students and CADAS.
· Follow the set structure provided by Prime for Life as to the curriculum regarding problems related to alcohol and drug use and on prevention of future problems.
· Ensure proper completion of all paperwork, grade MAST/DAST Assessment Tool and complete 1 on 1 interviews with students about the results.
· Use of AV equipment to reinforce teaching materials.
· Conducts tests and group projects to ensure that material presented is understood and when necessary, will provide appropriate clarification and follow-up.
· Must be fluent in Spanish and English
· Must be a certified Prime for Life instructor. If not already certified must be willing to attend training as soon as possible to become certified and must maintain that certification.
· Must have good communication skills.
· Must be able to respond to individuals from all socioeconomic levels.
· Must have the ability to effectively deal with hostility and anger in court ordered participants.
· Must have the ability to remain focused on the curriculum. It is time sensitive.
· Must have knowledge of substance abuse and addictions.
· Must be available every other Saturday, as needed, to teach the 12 hour class. The class begins at 8am and ends at 8pm.
Must have completed your 90 day evaluation period to be considered
Language Skills:
· Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and English, both verbally and in writing
