Job Summary: Teacher's Assistant
Sun-Thurs 10a – 7p
Under the auspices of the Title I Grant, a Teacher's Assistant helps the teacher in delivering educational instruction & services to adolescents participating in treatment at the adolescent residential treatment center through our year-round school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with educational instruction & monitoring
· Teacher's Assistant conducts individual tutoring
· Assist with assignments
· Teacher's Assistant implements motivational strategies
· Complete educational assessments & testing
· Teacher's Assistant conducts organization and grading of class assignments
· Maintain attendance & demographic data
· Ensure timely delivery of educational requirements
· Assist with Title I documentation requirements
· Teacher's Assistant substitutes for teacher as needed
· Monitor students outside of the classroom per administrator directives
· Perform all aspects of client care in an environment that optimizes client safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
· Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and TJC regulations related to the organization
· Treat clients and families with respect and dignity; ensures client confidentiality
· Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and organized
· Use two identifiers for each client served to ensure identification
· Perform other duties as assigned
Regulatory Requirements:
· Experience working with adolescents in a group and/or educational setting is required
· Experience working with special education populations is recommended
· At least one of the following:
o Two years of college credit
o Related Associate’s Degree
o Passed State Approved Para-Pro Assessment
o Highly Qualified
· A minimum of one-year experience in a similar environment is preferred
· Valid Driver’s License required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
