The Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention (Cade Museum) a non-profit 501(c)3 located in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking to hire an adaptable, creative, articulate, dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Education Program Coordinator. This is a full-time position in a small startup, casual entrepreneurial environment. There is a three-month probationary period for all new hires.
The Education Program Coordinator is a key member of the Cade Museum’s Guest Experience team, responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on STEAM programming. This role focuses on engaging guests through camps, outreach visits, and in-museum programs using existing curriculum and materials.
This role is responsible for leading educational programming. While this role does not include curriculum development, the Education Program Coordinator may adapt existing lesson plans or activities as needed to best fit guest needs, setting, or timing. They also play a key role in supporting the functionality and organization of Museum and Annex program spaces.
The successful candidate must be reliable and dependable, self-motivated, and eager to step in when a need is observed. A positive, team-oriented attitude is a must!
General Responsibilities
- Teach hands-on STEAM programming during museum hours, including daily activities, classes, and special events
- Serve as the education lead during assigned camp and outreach program sessions
- Adapt and deliver pre-developed lesson plans to meet the needs of various audiences and settings
- Create a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all guests
- Assist with the preparation and organization of supplies and materials for programs and events
- Help maintain educational spaces and program materials to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for use
- Monitor the condition of teaching tools and materials, reporting any needs or issues to the Program Manager or Ordering Manger
- Work closely with Guest Experience and Education teams to ensure smooth and consistent program execution
- Participate in ongoing training related to program content, museum exhibits, and visitor engagement
- Support part-time educators and volunteers by modeling best practices in program facilitation
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the Cade Museum’s mission to transform communities by inspiring and equipping future inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries
- Maintain a flexible, proactive, and solutions-oriented attitude
- Stay informed about current and upcoming museum programs and offerings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in teaching or informal education (camps, museums, after-school programs, etc.)
- Comfortable delivering STEAM content to youth and family audiences
- Able to adjust plans on the fly while maintaining educational goals and a positive guest experience
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities during active program delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for outreach programs

Pay: $36,000.00 per year
