Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential New Construction Plumbing Superintendent to oversee and manage plumbing operations for residential new construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient installation of plumbing systems in new homes, from the initial groundwork to final inspection. You will coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, all while adhering to safety codes and building regulations.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day plumbing operations on multiple residential new construction sites.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure plumbing installation aligns with the project timeline.
- Review plumbing plans and blueprints to ensure accuracy and adherence to codes.
- Oversee the installation of all plumbing systems, including water supply, waste, vent, and gas lines.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of plumbers and apprentices on-site.
- Ensure that plumbing crews are properly trained and follow best practices, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Schedule and assign tasks to plumbing personnel to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and address any on-site challenges that arise.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work complies with plumbing codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Monitor work progress to ensure that plumbing installations meet quality standards and are completed on schedule.
- Ensure all permits, inspections, and documentation are completed and submitted as required.
- Perform final walkthroughs and inspections of completed plumbing systems to ensure all installations are functioning correctly.
- Safety and Risk Management:
- Ensure all plumbing work is performed in compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations.
- Enforce safe work practices and provide safety training for plumbing teams.
- Address any safety concerns and proactively mitigate potential hazards on the job site.
- Problem Solving and Coordination:
- Identify and resolve any issues related to plumbing installations, materials, or design discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with system design, water pressure, or plumbing materials during construction.
- Budget and Time Management:
- Monitor labor and material costs to ensure the plumbing work stays within the allocated budget.
- Maintain detailed records of plumbing work, materials, and timelines.
- Ensure the plumbing work is completed within the agreed-upon timeline and in accordance with the project schedule.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential plumbing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Licensing/Certification: Current plumbing license (as required by state or local regulations).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and building plans.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of plumbing tools and technologies.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (additional trade school or technical training is a plus).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry tools and materials, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
