Job Overview
Our primary focus right now is filling the associate attorney position at the firm. I have included a summary below for this position:
Experience: 3 years of experience specializing in divorce and family law
Education: JD required
License to practice: Attorney must be barred in New York (Connecticut is a plus)
Strong passion for matrimonial and family law
Excellent legal research and writing.
As part of the application process, we require that the candidate submit a writing sample of a pendente lite motion from a matrimonial case. If they do not have one available, we will accept a petition for custody. Our first interview is usually 60-90 minutes long, and has a written assessment that is administered to the candidates to test their analytical skills. Please be sure to let all candidates know that they will be expected to take an assessment during their first interview.
Our ideal candidate is coming from a small-medium sized firm (2 attorneys) and understands the dynamics of a smaller law firm, or is leaving a large firm and wants to be in an environment where they are more than just a billable hour. They should be able to think outside of the box when it comes to legal strategies. We are also looking for growth-oriented individuals, who want to actively help the firm grow. Our firm invests significant time, energy, and resources into networking and continuing our employees’ professional development and our ideal candidate should be aligned with these values.
