Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of our business through strategic planning, market analysis, and fostering strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Development of opportunities with existing customers in core industries
- Development of opportunities with new customers in core industries
- Development of opportunities with new industries and opportunities
- Manage active relationships with existing customers, new customers, vendors and subcontractors
- Visit customer site and corporate locations. Maintain, manage and develop customer relationships
- Communicate and manage business development activities while utilizing the following tools: monthly business development task plans, trip reports, customer call reporting, opportunity tracking lists, opportunity forecasting
- Communicate opportunity leads to sales team
- Identify key customer decision makers and influencers
- Transition customer communication at appropriate time to sales team during proposal development stage
- Participate in proposal follow up while continuing opportunity status tracking
- Provide insight and guidance to sales team during proposal development when appropriate
- Participate in proposal development strategy meetings and cost reviews
- Participate in project kick off meetings to provide insight on customer scope of work and execution expectations
- Represent us at industry trade shows
- Participate in industry organizations and conferences (i.e.: GEAPS, IPPE,IAOM, Petfood Forum, Coal Ash, Powder and Bulk, etc.)
Qualifications:
- BS degree in business, agricultural, engineering and construction management or related degrees preferred
- Uncompromising integrity and honesty
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with sales software
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or technical sales in industrial market sectors
- Experience in the feed manufacturing and grain industries preferred
- Technical experience and knowledge associated with conveying systems, material storage, facility and equipment layout, feed manufacturing and feed equipment a plus
- Must be a self-motivator with excellent organization, time management, and planning skills
- Extensive travel, estimated at 30%-50%
- Belong to industry organizations in our key markets
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
