The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects from inception to completion. This role will involve analyzing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits, obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project objectives and constraints.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for bidding purposes.
- Present estimates to management and participate in bid review meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, including assumptions and methodologies used.
- Monitor project costs and provide support to project teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Agtek, Bluebeam & B2W software preferred.
