What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Inspector position at Cadillac Coffee Company?
Full-Time 40 hrs/week 5:00am - 3:00pm MON-THUR, overtime as needed
SUMMARY
Ensure adherence to regulatory, customer and facility food safety and quality requirements on a daily basis for all production activities by performing necessary testing and inspections as outlined within Cadillac Coffee Company’s food safety and quality management system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to food safety objectives and work to uphold the company food safety and quality system.- Understand that QA has the ability to stop production at any time if food safety issues or concerns arise.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to assess compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Approve production start-ups and changeover processes through pre-operational and first article inspections.
- Overseeing all aspects of product integrity and consistency throughout food manufacturing processes.
- Notifying quality assurance manager of any identified quality issues or food safety hazards.
- Handle all non-conforming product holds to ensure adequate quarantine procedures and appropriate documentation.
- Calibrate quality inspection devices and equipment as necessary.
- Conduct daily inspections of the facility to ensure food defense measures are successful.
- When needed, conduct sensory evaluations to assess the taste, texture, aroma, and overall organoleptic properties of coffee products. This includes identifying any deviations from established quality specifications.
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to address quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and optimize processes to meet quality standards.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate management staff.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control tests, inspections, and findings. Ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory standards and is accessible for audits.
- Perform any other duties that are requested by a member of quality management if needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving parts and electrical machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to and airborne particles and fumes, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
