What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Response Coordinator position at Cadillac Oasis Family Resource Center?
Overview
The Community Response Coordinator is responsible for supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence by providing service coordination and direct intervention aimed at strengthening and safeguarding families in Wexford and Missaukee counties, using a trauma-informed approach. Also, to assist the agency in task completion regarding donations, events, community resources and any other task for the smooth operation of the agency.
Duties
- Evaluates incoming advocacy calls for crisis intervention.
- During crisis calls, advocate identifies immediate concerns, establishes safety, notifies first responders (if needed), discusses ways that Oasis can assist, arranges transportation, and sets up face-to-face appointments.
- Provides after-hours and weekend crisis response services, on a rotating basis.
- Quickly reports to hospital for crisis services, when needed.
- Establishes individualized safety plans with clients.
- Demonstrates professional behavior when responding to hospital crisis calls and is a good representative for Oasis.
- Follows up with clients within 24 hours of receiving a crisis call or providing a crisis service.
- Answers the agency telephone, including hotline calls, routine calls, and scheduling for agency staff as appropriate.
- Demonstrates professional and friendly phone etiquette.
- Appropriately responds to client calls by providing information about agencies, services, processes, etc.
- Greets and assists clients coming into the building.
- Successfully engages clients in services by using interpersonal skills (observing, attending, and listening).
- Successfully builds rapport with clients by developing a safe and trusting relationship.
- Initial database entry for new clients, including part of the intake.
- Scans and uploads information from client meetings in the proper database.
- Facilitate community access to services, and referrals to outside agencies or to appropriate OASIS/FRC programs.
- Maintains a system of checks and balances for all gift cards and pantry supplies/donations for clients.
- Participate in on-call schedule as needed.
Experience
- Knowledge of the dynamics of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault ·
- Familiarity with community resources.
- At least 6 months working as an administrative assistant or in an office setting
