Position Summary:
The Oasis Family Resource Center (Oasis) Board of Directors is looking for an Executive Director (ED) to join our nonprofit organization. The ED will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Oasis' staff, programs, expansion, and execution of the mission. The ideal candidate will be a natural connector with excellent listening, communication and relationship-building skills, able to aggregate talent and allies and build bridges between people from different communities, sectors and backgrounds. They will demonstrate a keen awareness of the needs and strengths of people and the versatility to read and respond to a changing environment and diverse perspectives, all from a social justice, intersectional framework of working with survivors. They will be survivor-centered and trauma-informed. This position leads the agency Leadership Team.
The ED will be thoroughly committed to Oasis' mission, the people we serve and an empowerment-based philosophy. All candidates must have proven leadership, coaching and relationship management experience. The ED must also have extensive knowledge of: the dynamics of domestic and sexual assault; the history of the prevention and intervention of violence against women and childhood trauma; and, the societal impact of gender-based violence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems.
- Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals .
- Actively engage and energize OASIS’ volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations, and funders.
- Lead, coach, develop, and retain OASIS’ high-performance senior management team.
- Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
- Participate and oversee community awareness, systems change, and community engagement efforts to further OASIS’ mission and support long-term community change.
- Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and expansion .
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
- Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
- Develop, maintain and support a strong board of directors; serves as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing operations.
- Cultivate existing board member relationships and build a strong bond.
- Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, ideally an MSW or MPA.
- At least 5 years of successful senior management experience.
- Grant management experience preferred.
- Track record of effectively leading a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Passion, empathy, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
- Knowledge around grant management and financial reporting.
- Computer skills that are applicable to specialized software to complete the job.
- Computer proficiency necessary in Microsoft Office package.
- Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to individuals with differences of opinion, status or from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability/willingness to work a flexible schedule.
