What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oasis Family Resource Center Advocate position at Cadillac Oasis Family Resource Center?
Oasis Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time advocate to work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The perfect candidate for this position:
- Has an interest in psychology, social work, or human services.
- Has great communication skills.
- Stays calm, cool, and collected when presented with a crisis or urgent need.
- Understands goal setting and action planning.
- Is familiar with local community resources and/or has experience using DHHS assistance programs.
- Enjoys teaching life skills, coping skills, and recovery skills to individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Is non-judgmental and willing to help people of any age, race, religion, or socioeconomic background.
- Can be flexible, sometimes working outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to be on-call for crisis situations, on a rotating basis.

Your responsibilities will include conducting needs assessments with each family, assisting them in setting goals, linking/coordinating community service referrals, educating families, supportive listening, and assisting clients to navigate various systems in order to meet their physical, emotional, social, financial, environmental needs.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
