What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at Cadillac Products Automotive Company?
General Scope of Responsibility:
To develop production schedules, procure raw materials, ensure notification and shipment of product to our customers in the right quantities at the established delivery times, and to coordinate all customer contact on any issues requiring attention. This position is also responsible for general clerical, and HR functions in the Plant.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Material Control Duties
Manages raw, in process, and finished goods inventories
· Assures inventory obsolescence is avoided
· Assures obsolescence claims against our customers are filed and paid
· Maintains pre-established finished and raw material inventory levels
· Implement and manage Lean pull systems.
Manages contacts with customers
· Act as a liaison with customer for delivery concerns and requests
· Utilize customer systems (DDL, Smart, GM Supply Power)
· Review changes or launch of new product, inform customer to ensure breakpoints.
Monitors and informs Plant Manager on issues with key departmental measurables
· Customer delivery performance metrics, including updating releases and schedules daily.
· Premium freight for in-bound and out-bound materials
· Vendor delivery, performance
· Days on Hand (DOH)
Administrative Duties
Perform all administrative duties associated with running a plant:
· Answering telephones
· Filing and processing paperwork
· Maintaining Records Storage
· Greeting visitors
· Communicating with vendors and customers
· Scheduling meetings and performing other tasks as requested by the plant manager and staff.
Perform Administrative tasks related to Human Resources
· Completes employee verification, orientation, and payroll paperwork
· Prepares new employee folders and required documents with Plant Mgr
· Set-ups and maintain employee records, OSHA recordkeeping, etc.
· Tracks OSHA training and sets up or conducts mandatory safety training
· Schedules and completes annual hearing testing for relevant employees
Quality Systems Responsibilities
Manage the appropriate QMS and EMS Systems and procedures needed to effectively perform the ‘production control, shipping and receiving functions’.
· Effectively develops, implements, and maintains documented procedures needed to manage the ‘production control functions’ and comply with TS16949 and ISO14001 EMS documentation.
Production Scheduling Duties
· Schedules production equipment and communicates schedule with Manufacturing
· Assists in establishing crewing needs for production floor and communicates changes to Manufacturing and Human Resources
· Assures bills and routers are entered correctly; are audited for errors and are corrected when inaccurate; communicates this information during profit planning; for all new business/engineering changes
· Reviews customer releases and communicates to management and/or customer possible shortages.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
· Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
· 6 years of experience in production, inventory control, and customer service in an automotive environment.
· Experience with MRP, master schedules, SMART/DDL, and ASN experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience with automotive supplier applications including bar code, EDI and JIT applications.
