General Scope of Responsibility:
To ensure a safe work environment while maintaining quality and production standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
General:
- Coordinate those elements in getting production out right and on time.
- Meet production standards and schedules.
- Proper and effective utilization of manpower.
- Ensure proper and effective utilization of tools, equipment and plant facilities.
- Plan shift and ensure a smooth transition to the next shift.
- Enforce all plant rules.
- Ensure that equipment is being maintained properly (Ensure equipment is safe and in good working order).
- Maintain quality and production standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Specific:
- Conduct hourly machine checks and complete DRD responsibilities.
- Edit time sheets and input DSPAR for daily reporting.
- Assign work to all employees equally and fairly.
Responsibilities as Required:
- Complete accident report.

Provide Human Resources with necessary forms.
- Disciplinary notice
- Application for job bid
- Personnel change
- Vacation change request
- Application for shift bid
- Seminar attendance request sheets
- Interview new employees (hourly).
- Conduct safety, quality and productivity meetings.
- Conduct employee reviews annually.
- Provide corrective action on all DMR’s issued against shift.
- Manage and resolve conflict with employees.
- Improve manufacturing processes.
- Implement special project.
- Be active member of the Plant Safety Team.
- Provide weekly safety talks.
- Be alert for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a Team oriented environment with ability to work with others to improve systems and processes.
- Excellent communication and human relation skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:
- Experience in unionized facility.
- Familiarity with concepts and principles of QS9000.
- Blueprint reading.

HUMAN RELATIONS:
The production supervisor must be able to lead small teams by the goal of reducing manufacturing costs. They must also be able to motivate, manage and resolve conflict between employees.
Physical Requirements;
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 5 – 25 pounds. Occasional use of stairs and ladders. Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises. Environmental conditions include noisy environments with occasional varying temperatures.
