DSP (Direct Support Professional)

THE POSITION: We’re looking to hire part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in our day program. Working hours are Monday-Friday 9:30am-3:30pm with flexibility within those days/hours.

The pay rate we’re offering is $20.00/hour, with the possibility of making up to $25.00 per hour for leading and teaching group activities.

THE ORGANIZATION: Located in Great Barrington, MA, Cadmus Lifesharing Association was founded in 1984 and serves people with developmental disabilities by living and working alongside one another in a lifesharing setting and in a community-based day program.

· Our day program activities support good health and wellbeing for all- we stay active! Our program includes hiking, biking, gym activities, swimming, gardening, singing and dance classes, yoga, arts & crafts, culinary classes, meditation, movement classes, and some farming.

· Our staff to resident ratio is low, allowing time for relationships to develop and a high quality of support to be given to each individual.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Prior experience working with people with developmental differences is preferred but not required.

· Must be able to spend long periods of time walking/standing.

· Ability to read, write and comprehend English.

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

· Must be able to complete required training programs and pass associated tests (CPR, First Aid, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Supporting individuals in meeting their goals and participating in activities.

· Providing personal care as needed.

· Transporting individuals to activities in the community.

· Maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment.

· Protecting and advocating for the human rights of the individuals we serve.
