Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint Analysis: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining parameters, tool selection, and tolerances.
- CNC Programming: Develop and edit CNC programs using specialized software to produce parts efficiently and accurately.
- Machine Operation: Operate CNC machines and other equipment, such as saws, lathes, and milling machines, to produce parts according to specifications.
- Measurement & Precision: Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure part accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve programming or mechanical issues during machining, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to verify they meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and related equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Safety Standards: Adhere to safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe working environment.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience creating and editing CNC programs using CAM software.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, and material properties.
- GD&T: Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint interpretation.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and web browsers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and multitasking skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand or sit for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
