Job Summary
As a Principal Electrical Engineer at Red 6, will lead the development of next-generation augmented reality systems. You will oversee all aspects of the electrical hardware development lifecycle from requirements to design, test, and integration. You will be deeply involved in the development of new system architectures. This will necessitate an ability to derive electrical subsystem requirements from higher-level product requirements.
The responsibilities of this role also include managing and mentoring other EEs, board layout specialists, and technicians, managing their workload, providing expert technical guidance to deliver world-class products to our customers. The Principal EE will also work to continuously improve efficiency and quality of output through implementation and evolution of industry-leading design processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating, and integrating electronic equipment, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance hardware systems.
- Oversee all aspects of the electrical hardware development lifecycle from requirements to design, test, integration and manufacturing.
- Evaluates various design approaches and uses data-based methodical methods to down-select to plan-of-record design directions.
- Analyzes electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- May use high level programming language to configure programmable logic devices
- Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results
- Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
- Able to identify component operational characteristics that may impact system performance and or sustainability
- Contribute to proposals and estimates of budget and schedule to meet program objectives.
- Task and mentor more junior Engineers, offering expert technical guidance to the entire team. Establish and evolve best practices for the Electrical Engineering department.
Experience, Skills and Required Qualifications
Salary : $170,000 to $200,000, depending on experience
