What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder II position at Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions?
Cadrex is searching for a Welder II to use Manual Welding skills to manufacture weldments to defined specifications, workmanship standards and production schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
Arrange parts for welding and staging processes
Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
Uphold site efficiency standards
Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures
Perform other duties as requested by the Lead
Assist in other work areas as assigned
Understand welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
Work completely independently without supervision
Trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work center
Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center
Cross trained in multiple workstations
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years in a metal manufacturing setting preferred
Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum
Possess a basic understanding of welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment
Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work
Obtain and maintain weld certifications in two or more welding processes specific to employee’s location
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
