Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for packing and processing outbound shipments, and assisting with daily receiving operations including handling, packaging, and processing of equipment, parts, products, and materials to documented specifications. This position will manage shipments through our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and shipping software, and will prepare and submit paperwork for international shipments. This position will assist with receiving materials, service items and returns, and organization of stock and assembly of designated subassemblies. This position will primarily be in the Receiving department, but will assist in the shipping area as needed.
This position is located at company headquarters in Kennewick, WA.
Key Functions / Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieves items from the warehouse and maintains organization within the warehouse
- Process order receipts in electronic parts management system; packs and prepares items for shipment
- Complete inspection of incoming deliveries to verify parts meet purchase order requirements and documented specifications
- Processes shipments through ERP and shipping systems
- Receives, processes and delivers items to the appropriate departments or location in warehouse
- Processes customer’s returned equipment, accessories and supplies (RMA’s)
- Supports incoming inspection and receiving
- Performs daily facilities tasks and assists with facilities jobs
- Must be familiar with stockroom equipment, including the forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack operation
- Mark, label and sort parts for accurate placement in stocking areas
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma required; AA desired
- Formal technical training preferred
- Previous experience in shipping and warehouse functions required
- Prior experience using shipping software such as FedEx Ship Manager®, UPS WorldShip®, etc. preferred
- Forklift experience and certification preferred
- Prepares and submits documentation for international shipments and AES export filings preferred
Skills / Job Knowledge / Abilities:
- Familiar with shipping domestically and internationally both parcel and freight
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Completes work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed
- Basic computer skills required (knowledge in the MS Office and Google applications desired)
- Good organizational abilities needed
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Requires the following physical activities: reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and talking
- Use of computer and various hand and electronic tools; use of stockroom equipment
- Work assigned shifts to cover department hours of 6:30am - 5:00pm; overtime may be required to meet business needs
