Who We Are:
We are hiring a full-time Chief of Academics Instructor for our Initial Flight Training Rotary (IFT-R) Program for the United States Air Force (USAF) located in Dothan, AL. This Instructor will be responsible to provide ground and simulator-based training, evaluate performance, and serve as a mentor/professional developer to beginning military aviators. This position is also responsible for development, update, and correction of program courseware to include oversight of all instructor pilots designated to instruct ground academics.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Develop, review, improve, update, and correct courseware and lesson supporting materials, defined as: Lesson Readings, Power Point Presentations, Computer-aided Instruction Modules, Computer-based Test/Quiz questions, Lesson Objectives, Exercise Worksheets and Lesson Videos.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office tools, virtual meeting platforms, flight simulation and audio/visual equipment.
- Accomplish tasks in support of the academic / simulator requirements of the IFT-R syllabi as directed and IAW the CAE USA Inc. applicable contract. Deliver classroom instruction from a small (50) student sized environment.
- As the Chief of Academics and syllabi subject matter expert, be able to teach any syllabus academic lessons and/or simulator training sorties; and train/certify/evaluate IFT-R instructors (academic or flight) to the same tasks.
- Aid in IFT-R program scheduling and monitor/record student attendance for each academic lesson and test in applicable software.
- Proctor student testing as required by the syllabus.
- Provide reviews and additional academic training as required for students who regress academically.
- Manage/maintain student study aid/products, such as but not limited to, In-Flight Guides, Maps, Checklists, EFB setup/standardization and other required items as directed by the Chief Pilot.
- As an additional duty, when directed, provide flight operation supervision for IFT-R Chief Pilot. Advise IFT-R Chief Pilot on matters effecting student class flow on an equivalent flight commander status.
- Other duties may include the potential for attached flight instruction and miscellaneous IFT-R projects as required by the Chief Pilot / Program Manager.
- Work Schedule: Full time, Typically, 8-hour shift MON-FRI between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM. ▪ Potential for Saturday or occasional nights (based on contract student flow).
- Education: BS/Equivalent
- Experience: 3-5 Years Aviation Ground or Flight Instruction
- License(s)/Certificate(s): FAA Commercial Flight Instructor with Instrument rating; Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI); Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI)
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Products
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
- US Military Flight Instructor Training Experience
- Potential to acquire FAA Second Class Medical Certificate to perform CFI-I flight duties
- Minimum 2500 hours rotary
