Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: This position operates in a fast-paced clinical environment. It involves direct patient contact and interaction with medical equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting of supplies and equipment, and adherence to strict sterilization protocols.
- observe and assess patients
- effect comprehensive nursing care plans for patients
- administer treatments and medications
- monitor and report symptoms and changes in patient status
- collaborate with medical team on patient status
- maintain complete and accurate patient records
- prepare patients and assist with patient examinations and therapies
- assist with diagnostic tests and interpret results
- modify treatment plans where indicated
- advise patients on health maintenance and preventative medicine
- provide educational, emotional and psychological support to patients and family members
- maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations
- adhere to infection-control protocols
- follow medication administration and storage procedures and regulations
- monitor and co-ordinate maintenance of equipment operation and inventory
- check and maintain nursing supplies inventory
- educate and instruct patients on home care needs
- organize and manage clinic and Medical Assistants
Skills required, but not limited to:
- Proficiency in keyboarding and computer software is a must.
- Analytical Skills: Must be able to read medical records and decide the best way to record those records so that they are logical and understandable.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy is very important in medical records, for diagnosis, treatment and billing. Attention is key. Typos and inaccuracies can happen easily when using medical coding as a means of communication.
- Discipline: You must be driven and self-disciplined to keep up with the changes in healthcare and adapts to changing policies and priorities.
- Technical Skills: LPN’s often use specialized software to record medical information. Being able to quickly understand technology is necessary.
- Ability to multi task and adapt to changing priorities in a work day
- Organization – Being organized is essential since you will be dealing with patient files and documents. You must be able to set up systems of organization.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proper phone etiquette is necessary since phone conversations with patients and other medical offices will be frequent.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
