Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing complex accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting strategic financial planning. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and cost control initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and key financial reports.
- Ensure financial statement integrity, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Oversee accruals management, balance sheet management, and financial statement accuracy.
- Perform bank reconciliations daily and manage shareholder transactions.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including P&L review and accurate classification of transactions.
- Monitor and track COGS expenses against the budget. Assist in forecasting and budgeting COGS costs.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with cost-related insights.
- Analyze financial performance, KPIs, and profitability trends to support decision-making.
- Provide financial modeling and business case analysis for cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, industry regulations, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with department heads to improve operational efficiency and cost reduction strategies.
- Analyze and monitor production costs, overhead expenses, and inventory valuations. Analyze cost roles and ensure the accuracy of standard cost settings (ICR).
- Maintain and update standard cost systems to ensure cost accuracy.
- Conduct variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead) and recommend cost improvements.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory, including cycle counts and adjustments.
- Develop and implement cost control measures to improve profitability.
- Assist with capital budgeting and financial planning for capital expenditures.
- Support audits by preparing required documentation and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Perform financial analysis for special projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, medical devices, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Compensation:
Caerus Corp provides the following information about compensation for this position:
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year.

The salary range is based on several factors which will vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include but not limited to education, work experience, scope and responsibilities of position and geographic location.
