What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineering Co-op position at CAES?
CAES is looking for motivated aspiring engineering interns to work in a highly collaborative, growing electronics product development environment at the Lansdale, PA facility. You will work closely with the mechanical design engineering team to support the design, prototype, verification, and manufacturing of complex electronic products.

- Independently interpret requirements and specifications and conceptualize solutions.
- With oversight, design and engineer product, systems, and sub-systems.
- With oversight, conduct structural and thermal analysis of electronics and electronic enclosures for harsh environments.
- With oversight, help generate design models and drawings for new product design.
- With oversight, participate in assigned project tasks on current programs.
- Independently perform related or supporting engineering work assignments as business needs require.
MINIMUM:
- Current student enrolled in a relevant and accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
- Strong interest in Mechanical Design.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Functional dexterity and adroitness in use of the hands.
- Ability to operate a computer, a test set, electronic diagnostic tools, and various hand tools. (appropriate training provided).
- Willing and able to safely lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively collect, track, and accurately input data.
- Ability to responsibly operate independently to complete assigned tasks.
