What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineering Co-op position at CAES?
The Quality Engineering internship is offered to students in order to educate them on Quality Engineering related activities and provide the opportunity for visiting the plant, observing Quality Engineers performing their work, and looking at how issues are identified and addressed in manufacturing processes. In support of and under the direction of the Quality Manager, the intern will be responsible for activities associated with Quality Engineering related processes with focus on Customer Returns and Nonconforming Material processes.
• Review/evaluate company metrics against company’s Quality Policy.
• Participate in Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations. Carry out actions as determined to be necessary.
• Perform effectiveness checks in support of the CAPA program and continuous improvement.
• Participate in designated continuous improvement.
• Provide Quality system support.
• Additional tasks and projects, as needed.
• Develop inspection techniques.
MINIMUM
- Current pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Operations, or Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED
- Major - Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel.
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and process focus.
