Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organized Kitchen Steward to join our team at Caesars Southern Indiana. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and organization in the dining and cooking areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by washing dishware, utensils, pots and pans, and putting them away in their designated storage areas.
- Ensure a constant flow of soiled dishes from the restaurant venues to the kitchen by transporting them in a timely manner.
- Complete closing checklists efficiently to ensure that all tasks are completed before the end of each shift.
- Ensure the cooking line is free of debris throughout your shift.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
- Transport trash to the dumpster and operate the cardboard compressor.
- Adhere to all internal controls, policies, standards, and procedures.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- You must be dependable and motivated with excellent communication skills.
- You should possess basic reading skills and be able to read and understand caution and warning labels, signage, and stickers.
- You must be a team player who can work independently and demonstrate a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Work Environment
- You must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- You should be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
- You must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino from floor to floor using stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalators.
- You must be able to lift, carry, and/or push a minimum of 40 pounds.
- You must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects, and have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- You must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
- You must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience.
